We're Changing...
..........for the Better!
We are thrilled to announce that the Fitness Village Health Club will be undergoing some exciting changes over the summer.
Please read on to find out what is happening and how the changes will benefit you.
For the duration of the works the Health Club will be relocated to the Main Hall, offering 75% of our current equipment. We will endeavour to maintain service delivery, however we are sure the improvements will make any disruption worthwhile. If you have any questions please feel free to contact any member of the team. |

When will the refurbishment take place? Work will be taking place from Monday 29th June until Friday 24th July 2009
What will happen to the Health Club during this period? The Health Club will close at 4pm on Sunday 28th June. From Monday 29th June, the Health Club will be relocated to the Main Sports Hall for the duration of the work. The Health Club will re-open on Saturday 25th July 2009.
Will all the equipment be available during this time? It is our aim to offer all the cardiovascular equipment but there will be a reduced offering of resistance and free weights equipment. We will not be offering the cardio entertainment or TV's during this time but there will be music.
What will happen with the changing rooms? The current changing rooms will be closed for refurbishment, but the Squash Court and Studio changing facilities will remain available.
Where will we swipe in/pay during the Refurbishment? The reception desk will be located in the Main Hall.
What will the refurbishment include?
Main Gym Area
Removal of running track
New flooring and walls painted
Free Weights area to be re-located to the current Reception, Warm Up,
Spinning & Boxing area
Replacement of all Resistance equipment
Replacement of free weights equipment
New layout of equipment
Current free Weights Room
This will house the new Reception & Lounge area
The group exercise area will be located where the dumbbells are currently located
The Spinning room will be located next to the current GP Referral office
The flooring will be replaced, new ceilings installed and walls painted
Changing Rooms
The changing rooms will become exclusive to Fitness Village customers and accessed
from the reception area
They will also have new lockers & benches and the shower area will be refurbished

Day 23: Opening Day!
We're there! After a long night of moving equipment over to the newly refurbished health club, the doors opened to the public at 7am this morning.

Day 22: We're almost there!!
All the new equipment is now in place, we're just awaiting on moving the existing equipment across later tonight, ready for the opening tommorow morning.
Thaks for bearing with us throughout, I'm, sure you'll all be happy with what has been achieved!!

Day 19: The new equipment is starting to arrive!
Early this morning the new equipment started to arrive, and is being moved into the main hall of the health club.
We're nearly there now!!

Day 9: The New reception and Free Weights areas are beginning to take shape!
Both the new reception and Free Weights areas are now beginning to take shape.
The painters are in and have begun work on the new free weights area.

Day 5: New Wall taking shape!
The new wall is now taking shape, and will soon be plastered.
The flooring is being removed, and most of the running track has now been removed.

Day 4: New wall for the Free Weights Area has been erected!
The new wall which will seperate the new free weights area from the main gym area has now been erected.

Day 3: New Doors have been knocked through
Work is still concentrating on the new reception area, with the new entrance being knocked through, and the doors to the now exclusive changing rooms created.

Day 2: New Walls are being erected
On day two of the refurb, work has been concentrated on the old free weights room, to transform it into the new reception area & spinning studio
Stud walls have been erected, and plastering has got underway
Monday 29th June 2009
Works have begun!!
Works got underway late last night, with the Fitness Village equipment being successfully re-located to the main hall.
All the equipment has now been stripped from the Fitness Village and old Free Weights area, and structural work will begin shortly.

Successful Tender Announce
We are delighted to announce that Life Fitness have been successful in securing the tender to supply the new equipment for the Fitness Village.

Tender Process Nearing Completion
The tender process for the new gym equipment is nearing completion, with a successful supplier to be decided upon soon.
Following the decision, more information will be made available on the new equipment, along with detailed plans of the new-look health club.
