Dome to satisfy appetites of hungry customers with Wicked Café

The newly named Doncaster Dons are set to tackle the cafe culture when they unveil the new Wicked Cafe at The Doncaster Dome.

The Bawtry Road venue has splashed out on a brand new catering operation to meet the needs of hungry visitors, which the Dons will officially open.

The Doncaster Dome Leisure Trust Venues-managed facility, built 18 years ago in
1989, has updated its food and beverage service through a £75,000 investment plan in response to customer demands.

Under the new name of Wicked Café, the area has been updated and redesigned to offer a variety of hot and cold food plus healthy options and a children's menu in a revamped environment.

Centre bosses say the changes will enhance the overall experience of visiting the lagoons, ice rinks and fitness village with the aim of encouraging visitors to stay longer at the facility.

Gavin Baldwin, Chief Executive said: "We are delighted that the Dons could come along and officially open this new facility for us. Many of the players train in our Fitness Village so they are customers as well.

"It was important to us to act on the views of our customers following extensive research over the last year.

"The Dome now has very different needs to when it was first built. Over the years, society has become more health conscious and now demands healthy eating. Since the Fitness Village was launched there has been a huge surge in the number of people using the facility and wanting to use its associated services.

"For us there was an overwhelming desire to respond to changing customer needs and deliver a menu that satisfied this more health conscious society.

"Our customers not only wanted more choice on the menu but also in atmosphere. We now not only need to provide good food but also more attractive surroundings for people to spend time in," added Gavin.
