Media Statement: Incident in the Pool

Gavin Baldwin, chief executive of The Dome, said:

"The emergency services were called by staff due to an incident in the swimming pool. Trained lifeguards and staff immediately carried out first aid procedures.

"The boy was revived by the lifeguards and was breathing and taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary by paramedics for further care.

Staff training in rescue and first aid is regularly reinforced in case of such an incident and I would commend all the staff involved for their efficient and professional response."

The pool will re-open on Saturday morning as usual
