Staff at the Doncaster Dome are polishing up their language skills as they are about to be tackled by the French national rugby team.

As Doncaster prepares to welcome one of the matches for the Four Nations tournament, where France, England, Australia and World Champions New Zealand, will scrum down for the top spot, the newly refurbished Fitness Village at the Dome will be used by the French team as part of their fitness programme.

Michael Hart, General Manager of the Dome said: "We are delighted that the French national rugby league team will be training at the Dome's Fitness Village.

"They couldn’t have chosen a better time to come and work out here as we've recently reopened following a £350,000 refurbishment. The team will also be making use of the pools and squash courts as part of their training regime.

"The Four Nations tournament will certainly attract visitors to Doncaster and we look forward to seeing how the teams get on."

The match between England and France will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium on October 24.
Shane Chalmers, General Manager of the Keepmoat Stadium said: “It is great for us to be able to play host to such an important match and we are very happy that the French team are able to make use of the facilities at the Dome.
"Doncaster prides itself in partnership working and this is a great example of how organisations can benefit from working together.
"Rugby fans from far afield will travel to Doncaster on October 24th for this high profile fixture and we are looking forward to welcoming them all.
"This is a superb venue and makes Doncaster ideally placed when promoters are looking to stage top class sporting events."

The opening weekend will also see Harlequins RL's Twickenham Stoop ground host a repeat of last year's World Cup Final between Australia and New Zealand.

A week later England will play the Kangaroos at Wigan’s JJB Stadium and New Zealand will travel across the channel to play France.

In the final week of group fixtures World Champions New Zealand will travel to Huddersfield to play England at the Galpharm Stadium, with Australia taking the short flight over to France.

The final of the tournament will be played at Elland Road, Leeds, the venue of the 2005 Tri-Nations Final.

All tickets start for the Four Nations start from £20 for adults and £10 for concessions and can be purchased via the RFL Box Office on 0871 226 1313 or via www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk

A family of four – two adults and two juniors – can see any game including the final for just £40, whilst supporters can buy 10 tickets for the price of 9 for any single game or a combination of matches.

Those purchasing tickets for group games will also receive a £10 discount off an Elland Road final ticket.
