Squash facilities get juicy investment

Doncaster's squash facilities have enjoyed a juicy £50,000 boost thanks to The Dome's latest refurbishment project.

The existing squash courts have undergone a major shake-up to bring them in line with new standards set down by Squash England and the upgraded facility is now scheduled to reopen to the public on Friday 15 July.

The move is the latest upgrade launched at The Dome this year, following the big money refurbishment of the bar and conference facilities in January.

Gavin Baldwin, The Dome's Chief Executive, said: "Yorkshire is home to the top three male players in the country and importantly a number of up and coming junior players.

"We feel it is an important resource for people and as such they have undergone a thorough revamp and can now be considered the best in Doncaster. Our investment will enable players to enjoy their sport in the best set up available."

The revamp of the courts includes a re-plastering of the walls with the floor treated and marked and the installation of an expensive energy saving lighting system.

The changing rooms and the area outside the courts have also undergone a makeover as part of the project.
